Costa Blanca Best Family Beach – Poniente
The UK hit TV show probably didn’t do Benidorm any favours, aside from putting it at the forefront of peoples minds when considering a holiday to the Costa Blanca, but perhaps for the wrong reasons. Whilst it’s a very popular destination for British tourists, its high-rise apartment blocks filling the skyline for miles, if offers so much more than a warmer version of Brighton. Poniente and Levante are the 2 most popular beaches and for good reason. Either side of the old town, both blue-flag beaches are ideal for families looking for a safe day on the sand with all the amenities you would want within easy reach.
Costa Blanca Best Secluded Beach – La Granadella
For those looking for a little escapism with little interest in when the next banana boat ride sets off, northern Costa Blanca has some of the regions finest quiet and secluded beaches, some only reachable by boat! But for the majority and those without easy access to a yacht and its crew, La Granadella is a wonderfully quiet spot with just enough to keep you going (a great beach bar serving tapas and cocktails).10km south of Xabia, this secluded cover could just be your little bit of paradise, but don’t tell everyone.
Costa Blanca Best Party Beach – San Juan
Whilst Benidorm’s main beaches couldn’t be considered dull as we’ve recommended that best for families, we’re heading south to Alicante for our pick of the best party beach in Costa Blanca. San Juan serves Alicante, arguably Costa Blanca premier party resort with beach parties in full swing come day or night. Groups and young couples looking to soak up the atmosphere of clubbing on the beach could do a lot worse than drop by San Juan.
Costa Blanca Best Activity Beach – Tabarca
With its 200km of coastline, there’s little surprise that water sports and activities are big business in the Costa Blanca. Most of the larger beaches offering a variety of water sports from the time old favourite banana boat to paragliding, sailing and kayaking, the active types have little to worry about getting bored in Costa Blanca. But for those wanting to explore activities beneath the surface, head to the marine reserve in Tabarca, a small island a short boat trip off the southern peninsula of Alicante, enjoy PADI accredited scuba lessons or just snorkel in its crystal clear water and enjoy some of the best Mediterranean flora and fauna.
